Less than 15 minutes after I offered a short discourse on what is wrong with America, citing a news story about two Texas sisters whose lemonade stand was shut down by local police because they lacked the proper permit, Adrienne restored my faith in humanity, with a tip about an awesome post from the Grand Ledge Community Facebook page.
Two police officers in Grand Ledge were photographed stopping by a Lemonade stand on Pearl Street today. No, they weren't there to shut it down. They were there to get a cool, refreshing beverage on a warm, late spring day. Oh, and to support a good cause.
The family is working to raise $800 for braces for one of their girls, Maya, who was diagnosed with tongue thrust last year. The family's insurance covered only 40% of the cost, and the family just spent their last $700 to pay for their daughter's care.
