Heads Up: All Michigan Target Locations To Stop Offering This
Who doesn't love a good trip to Target? Oh, I’ll tell you who, alright, your wallet. You walk into the store expecting just to get something like toothpaste, coffee, or even just some ice cream, and come out with about $500 worth of items. Like, how does this keep happening to us?
The Upcoming Changes To Target
Regardless, there's a major change coming to all Michigan stores that may upset some shoppers. Target recently announced that starting July 28th, 2025, all Michigan locations will no longer price-match against other retailers, with a catch.

If you're looking to compare flyers from competitors and ask for a discount, that line will no longer work. The only thing you can price-match with is Target's own prices. So, if something you bought there drops in price within 14 days, they’ll refund the difference. But if another store drops its prices, or even Amazon, forget about it.
The Shift Coming To All Targets
This isn’t just a Michigan shift. Target is following in the footsteps of Walmart, Costco, and Amazon, none of which allow price-matching with competitors.
Analysts suggest the move helps Target tighten its budget amid rising costs due to tariffs and with the holiday shopping season approaching.
If you used to bring in ads from other stores hoping to save a few bucks, that will unfortunately be a thing of the past. Instead, you’ll need to keep an eye out during the 14-day window to request a refund if the price of the item you bought at Target goes down.
