Although most of us (but not all of us) would probably rather grab a hot coffee as the temperatures start going down, you can expect to not see those green straws at your next Starbucks stop, possibly...

The chain is dropping the straws, in favor of their sippy cup lids. The new lids will have 10% less plastic than their old flat lid and straw combo, according to WILX.

Now, they are not abandoning straws entirely. Blended beverages are one of the only ones that you can expect to get a straw with.

Starbucks ' goal is to reduce their was production to 50% by 2030.

You can expect the lids to be fully adopted in the United States and Canada by the end of this month.
