Ride Sharing App Lyft Comes To Lansing

Another mobile ride-sharing service Lyft is launching at noon today in Lansing. Lyft is like Uber, which has been in the Lansing area since 2014, with you going to the app wanting a ride and a Lyft driver in the area will pick you up and take you there. Just like Uber, Lyft takes payment through the mobile app via PayPal or credit card.

The timing of them coming into the Lansing area is just what they planned with the school year starting soon.  Lyft’s coverage area spans west to Grand Ledge and Potterville, south to Dimondale and Mason and north to DeWitt.

Uber, Lyft’s main competitor, has been available in the region since 2014.

To celebrate its launch, Lyft is offering $5 off customers' first rides when they use the code “LYFTINLAN” on the app. Lyft offers a ride estimate calculator on its website.
