21 years ago, twins, Leah and Angela from Lansing, dropped a message in a bottle into the Grand River. Last week, that message was found.

Immediately, the hunt began to find these mystery girls, and WILX-TV's Ann Pierret made the initial connection.

When I asked Leah Sedelmaier, still living in Lansing, how she felt when she heard that their message in a bottle had been found, she said "I really couldn't believe it, it's amazing how legible the note and drawings are."

Leah says she and Angela, who isn't actually her biological twin but was a friend that was born on the same day, were 11 years old when they dropped that bottle in the water.

I asked Leah if she and Angela were still in touch.  She said the pair lost touch after high school but since this story broke they have reconnected.

Leah said Angela, who's now living in Norway, said "'we win on coolest way to reconnect' and I agree."

Leah said Pierret was the first to contact her, via Facebook, but others soon followed. She said "They found me based on my birthday, I guess there are not very many Leah's born on Oct 27th."

Leah expects to meet up with Terry, the man that found the bottle while Morel Mushroom hunting in Ionia, at some point.  It's a bit of a longer trip for Angela.
