There's a new recall hitting Michigan shelves after concerns over it possibly being able to be eaten over nutritional facts posted on the side of the bottle. While it may sound crazy to eat something that you know is not food, it does have a lot of people confused and concerned.

To be clear, not everything that nutritional facts on a bottle is meant for human consumption. A lot of different companies add those for their products that may contain all natural ingredients, instead of harmful chemicals.

Warning: Popular Product Being Recalled From Michigan Stores

The recall is being initiated by Lady May Tallow company, after 33,899 pounds of beef tallow were distributed to stores across the state of Michigan. It comes over concerns over the possibility of customers being misled by the nutrition information on the side of the bottle.

The products were distributed to stores across the state of Michigan between October 16th, 2024 through February 6th of 2025. The company would like to remind individuals, that there products are not safe for consumption.

Lady May Tallow also does not have the authorization from the USDA for human consumption at all. The recall is over 24-fl ox. glass jars to a 16-lb plastic tub.

No adverse health effects have been reported at all at this time, but consumers are urged to dispose of the products if they have them, or just to simply avoid eating the product. Most soaps are not edible as is, and some products with nutritional facts on the sides. Many companies are adapting this style to show the use of all-natural products.
