A major coffee company will be opening over 50 stores in Michigan.

A once popular coffee company in Michigan is currently down to one location in the state. However, that will be changing soon as Caribou Coffee recently announced a plan to open 300 new franchise locations in the United States.

Currently, Caribou Coffee fans have only one store location to visit in Michigan and that store is located in Stevensville. Caribou Coffee made changes to its franchise program back in October 2021, which now allows candidates to own and operate traditional Caribou Coffee stores across the nation. After signing several multi-unit development agreements, fans of the coffee company can expect to see 300 new locations, with more than 50 of them being opened in Michigan in the future.

Michigan's only Caribou Coffee location is located at 5637 Cleveland Avenue in Stevensville, Michigan.

Caribou Coffee Company was founded in 1992 in Edina, Minnesota by John and Kim Puckett. After several years of growth, it turned into a successful public company that was listed on NASDAQ in 2005.

In late 2012, the company was taken private once again after a $340 million deal with JAB Holding Company. Shortly after that in May of 2013, Caribou Coffee closed 80 stores, including many in Michigan. Then finally in August of 2021, Caribou Coffee merged with Einstein Bros. Bagels and Panera Bread to form Panera Brands.

Caribou Coffee locations will soon be seen in Michigan, Ohio, Florida, and more. The Michigan locations will stem from a deal made with Manna Development Group.

Where would you like to see a Caribou Coffee location built? I don't think I have ever tasted this particular brand of coffee but I look forward to giving it a try.
