I used to take care of my friend Ken's dog Koda. He is a French Bulldog. He was hyper as all get out and destroyer of all things. EVERYTHING. But he was so doggone cute and adorable. Observe.

Oh he was bad but when you're that cute and adorable you can get away with anything. French Bulldogs are like that. If you're not careful, they'll steal your heart and an election. Like Wilbur.

Meet Mayor Wilbur of Rabbit Hash KYReal city, real state, and real DOG mayor of said city and state.

I was gonna go with the whole "the election has gone to the dogs" thing but you and I know that's too easy.

So how'd this happen? Who did he beat to become mayor? That would be embarrassing for the guy who lost to a dog right?

Well, not if the guy he beat was a dog too.

On Tuesday night, Wilbur Beast, a French Bulldog, was elected mayor of Rabbit Hash in a landslide victory, WCPO reported. He unseated the incumbent Brynneth Pawltro, a rescued pitbull mix who had held the seat for the last four years.

Brynneth Pawltro. Last four years. I'm dying.

So what exactly is going on in Rabbit Hash, Kentucky?

The mayor of Rabbit Hash, a town owned by the Rabbit Hash Historical Society, has been a dog since 1998, according to WCPO. The elections are fundraisers — the town trades votes for cash — to maintain the Boone County town’s historic buildings. (WLNS)

Peep Mayor Wilbur of Rabbit Hash KY Facebook page. And take a look at the opponents he bested below to become "best in show" (sorry I couldn't help myself) and become mayor.

And honestly, this election to make this dog mayor...way better than what we got going on. Are they still counting?
