A new statewide survey finds families would rather start school after Labor Day instead of some districts that start in August.

Many Mid-Michigan school districts were allowed to move the school start date to august instead of after Labor Day cause of a new state law that students must have 180 days of school up from 175.

The survey found that 64% of those surveyed supported a law having schools start after Labor Day, with 25% opposed to it and are okay with starting school in August. More about the survey here.
