New $5 Million Development Coming To Michigan Ave

The street that leads to the Capitol, Michigan Ave is getting another new development next year.  The colorful buildings on the 2000 block of E. Michigan Avenue, including the former site of Emil’s, will be torn down today to make way for a $5 million, mixed-use development called East Town Flats

Expected to open Summer 2017 a modern, four-story structure will replace the vacant  two-story storefronts. The first floor will have about 12,000 sq feet for retail and restaurants, and above it will have three floors of apartments.  The apartments will range from studios to two-bedroom with rents between $775 and $1,250.
