Sweet Treat: This is Michigan’s Favorite Dessert

We can all pretend that breakfast is the most "important meal of the day" when our doctor is in the room, but between you and I we all know what we care the most about: dessert.

In fact, desserts have been trending lately here in West Michigan after the opening of the new extreme milkshake place Bad Habit in Grand Haven. And if that doesn't make you excited, we all have our favorites when it comes to desserts. Maybe you're a fan of Cakes or Pies. How about Ice Cream? Fudge? Cheesecake? See how hard it is to pick something when the list is so long?

The website Coventry Direct compiled the google search trend data for every state to see which dessert they wanted the most. And while a lot of states had the same answers, there were some unique choices.

Florida is (obviously) the only state who loves Key Lime Pie

The sunshine state is home of the beloved Key Lime Pie, so it only makes sense that it's their favorite. But it's a little surprising that no other state loves the zest of the lime from this treat.

Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, and Ohio all love Texas Sheet Cake

This sheet cake dessert is basically a thin cake brownie if you've never had it, and for some reason it's own home state doesn't even love it.

But Texas? They couldn't care less, they love Pecan Pie.

Don't mess with Texas and their love of Pecan Pie. They're one of three states who finds this dessert to be the best even outside of the holidays.

They get their peaches down in Georgia

Georgia is the only state in America that loves Peach Cobbler, but are we really surprised? They're the home of the best peaches, so naturally they're the only state loving them in their desserts.

The most popular dessert in the US is Ice Cream

5 states (California, District of Columbia, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania) all scream for ice cream... but the most important question, which flavor is their favorite?

Michigan's Favorite dessert is Carrot Cake

The mitten is one of two states in the US that loves Carrot Cake. Maybe we're trying to cheat our diets, or maybe we just want something different. But either way, it's the best choice if you're trying to make someone happy here in Michigan.
