What’s Being Recalled
Ada Valley Meat Company, based in West Michigan, has issued a recall of about 1,065 pounds of its fully cooked, frozen ground beef due to possible metal contamination.
The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) triggered the recall after receiving consumer complaints about pieces of metal found in the product.
Packaging Info: Dates and Codes
The affected beef was packaged on May 28 (lot code 35156) and May 30 (lot code 35157), 2025, in 20-lb cardboard boxes containing four 5-lb plastic bags labeled “Ada Valley FULLY COOKED GROUND BEEF.”

The USDA inspection mark reads “EST. 10031,” though some containers may display different establishment numbers if they were processed further.
Where Was It Shipped?
These products were shipped to five states: Michigan, California, Delaware, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. So far, no injuries have been reported.
Officials warn that institutional freezers may still contain the recalled products. The FSIS strongly advises institutions and consumers not to serve the beef. Instead, affected packages should be disposed of or returned to the place of purchase.
