The August Egg Company in Hilmar, California, just issued a massive egg recall, after 79 cases of salmonella contamination were found linked back to eggs sold at stores across the country. So far, 21 people have been hospitalized in 7 different states.
Some of the states included are Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and many more.
What Brands Are Affected by the Recall?
The eggs were sold at Kroger, Walmart, and other national retailers. Here's what you should look for when it comes to the recall:
Look for these brands & packaging at home:

- Organic Large Cage-Free Brown Eggs (12- and 18-count)
- Large Cage-Free Brown Eggs (12- and 18-count)
- Simple Truth (Kroger): Large & Medium Cage-Free Brown Eggs (18-count)

Salmonella is a dangerous foodborne pathogen that can cause diarrhea, vomiting, fever, stomach cramps, and in some cases, even require hospitalization if the cases are severe enough. Salmonella can be especially dangerous to the young, elderly, or immunocompromised.
