Major Bissell Recall Impacts Millions Including Michigan Homes
If you have gotten one of those steam cleaners sitting under your sink in Michigan, you might want to take it out and give it a look over.
What Products Are Being Recalled
A major recall just dropped involving Bissell, the company based in Grand Rapids, and it is a pretty big one, too. Nearly 2 million handheld steam cleaners are being pulled due to a serious burn risk.
Why These Steam Cleaners Are Dangerous
The recall is targeted towards the Steam Shot Omni and OmniReach models, and the issue isn't a minor one. Attachments can easily pop off while using them, which will unexpectedly shoot out hot water or steam.
How Many People Have Been Hurt
Nearly 200 reported incidents have already happened, related back to the product, as well as 161 burn injuries, with at least one person getting second-degree burns.

The Bissell company has been based in West Michigan for decades, and many people who live here in Michigan have definitely come to trust the giant retail success.
What Michigan Residents Should Do Now
If you bought one of these between October 2024 and March 2026 from stores like Target, Walmart, or online here in Michigan, you will want to stop using the product immediately.
There is some good news here. They're offering fixes. You can contact Bissell directly and get parts or go through the recall process.
You can return the product as well for a refund.
