Luckily for you, one of the best in the area is happening this and every Saturday (now through October) in Okemos.

Meridian Township Farmers' Market

The 2020 outdoor Meridian Township Farmers' Market opened Saturday, May 16th in the parking lot of Meridian Mall. The Market will operate Saturdays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm through October. Wednesday Market days are expected to be added in July.  (Meridian Township)

This was one of my first (and favorite) farmers' markets I went to when I moved back home to Michigan 3 years ago. They do an OUTSTANDING job and have so many different vendors and stands. From flowers to fruits and veggies to jerky to popcorn to sweet potato pie and even soaps, it is a lot to behold.

The Meridian Township Farmers' Market is just what we all need right now. We're slowly reopening the state, these farmers and vendors need your help and support more than ever, and you need some fresh fruits and veggies.

And they have taken all the precautions to make sure you and the vendors are safe.

Vendor booths will be spaced further apart with wider aisles to support social distancing requirements.  Also, all vendors, customers and staff are required to wear face masks. New to this year’s market is the availability of pre-ordering from certain vendors with curbside pick-up on the north side of the Market. (Meridian Township)

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients can now use their Michigan Bridge Card at the Meridian Township Farmers’ Market. The Market also accepts Double Up Food Bucks, WIC Project FRESH and Senior Project FRESH/Market FRESH coupons. Many vendors are also now accepting credit cards. (Meridian Township)
