I finally met Mel Tucker the other night. I really think MSU has hit a home run with this man.

Rumors will swirl that with more success at MSU, more schools and the pros will be calling and coveting him. I don’t really buy into any of this at this stage in the game.

Tucker took over after Mark Dantonio retired. He has had to deal with the Pandemic, a quarantined team, and multiple new players on the Spartans' roster. He put this team together and has done an excellent job with the new roster.

MSU is 7-0 and has bye this weekend. Tucker has an extensive resume too. From major universities to the NFL and head coach of Colorado for one year.

The Transfer Portal has been very good to Mel Tucker. He has gotten some solid football players like Kenneth Walker III from Wake Forest, who leads the nation in rushing right now.

Mel Tucker came back to East Lansing after starting his career as a grad assistant for Nick Saban. This guy is a football coach and has put this team together strategically. He hired a bunch of hungry coaches to help him mold this team too.

Tucker has a ways to go, and I expect him and his staff to bust it until they win consistently. Mel Tucker is getting it done, but his season is going to get much tougher in the weeks to go.
