Can we blame it on the moon? How about Mercury retrograde?

It might sound nuts and an astrological catchall but there might be some truth to this. First off, yes. We are in Mercury retrograde. Or as the website says, ISMERCURYINRETROGRADE.com. And no lie, I searched it and that's what came up as a website.

Mercury is in retrograde and Mercury turns direct on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 8:17 AM PT (North America).

So what's it mean?

Mercury is the planet that represents communication of all kinds. When it goes retrograde, the theory is that our communications get thrown out of whack. (CNN)

This all kicked off September 27th, goes through October 18th, and thankfully will be our final dance with this silliness for the year.

Just survive one more week and you should be good.

You gotta fight astrological fire with fire. And free horoscopes.

This is our resident French Quarter Medium Maria Shaw.

You can hear her free horoscopes for the week ahead (your final week while Mercury is in Retrograde) below.

Maria also says that after Mercury goes from Retrograde to Direct, things might still be out of whack.

Here's a fun way to figure out your life path number.

Similar to your sun sign in astrology, your life path number can tell you a lot about—you guessed it—your life path.

  • Write out your full birth date (i.e., 1969 rather than just 69). We'll use the example of March 29, 1969.
  • Add up the individual digits, continuing to add them until you get a single-digit life path number between 1 and 9. March 29, 1969 (or 3-29-1969), would give you: 3+2+9+1+9+6+9 = 39. From there, 3+9 = 12, and 1+2 = 3. This birthday has a life path number of 3. (mindbodygreen)
  • Find your life path number and what that number means HERE.

LOOK: Things from the year you were born that don't exist anymore

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.

LOOK: The most famous actress born the same year as you

Many of the actresses in this story not only made a name for themselves through their collection of iconic performances, but also through the selfless, philanthropic nature with which many of them approached their stardom. In an age of flipping the script on societal norms, many of these actresses are using their voices and platforms to be advocates for those who are otherwise unheard.
