Mason Residents! Avoid Certain Lakes & Streams This Weekend

The alert has been put out by the Ingham County Health Department, so avoid some bodies of water in Mason this weekend. According to WILX, the alert by Ingham County Health Department was an issue for all people who live in Mason or people going through Mason to have no contact for specific bodies of water in the area.

The no contact order is for Rayner Creek, parts of Sycamore Creek, the Red Cedar River and the Grand River. The reason the Health Dept. wants you to avoid those bodies of water is because wastewater was released into the Rayner Drain on June 20 in Mason as they were trying relieve the sewers from backing up in Mason. They will be re-evaluating the situation on Monday. But you can see more on it here.
