Blue Ridge Beef just issued a recall on 5,700 pounds of their 2-pound bags of Natural Mix dog food. The FDA, is currently warning that the bags may be contaminated with salmonella.
If you have purchased any products from Blue Ridge Beef recently, you may want to double check on the packaging before feeding it to your fury friends.
The UPC code for the affected recall numbers are 854298001054 with a lot number of N26/12/31.
Salmonella contamination, won't show up immediately if fed to your pets. In fact, symptoms may grow gradually, up to six days after initial exposure to be exact. Symptoms in animals could include:
- Lethargy
- Fever
- Vomiting
- Bloody diarrhea
In some cases, these could be fatal symptoms in animals, if the infection gets into the blood stream.
