You've probably seen the car around Lansing, whether it be at special events, or just casual cruises. It's certainly a vehicle that is unmistakable in its appearance, but you may not see the Ecto-1 replica on the streets of Mid-Michigan anytime soon

The Lansing State Journal is reporting that the Cadillac Hearse customized to look like the car from the Ghostbusters movie has been slimed and shelved. The vehicle's owner, Aaron Aikman, is seeking help from the public to get it back in running condition.

Aikman is searching for an Oldsmobile 350 engine to put under the hood after the Cadillac 368 engine that was in it overheated and blew on its way home from the St. Johns Mint Festival Saturday, where it appeared in the festival's parade. The engine overheated and caught fire on I-96 near M-99.

According to the report, Aikman teamed up with a friend, Jerry Jodloski, to customize the hearse he purchased in 2013 into the novelty that it is today. The vehicle has been a part of many local festivals, events, and charitable causes since its completion in 2016.

If you know where Aikman can get his hands on a replacement engine for his Ecto-1 replica, he is available to contact through social media and e-mail. Follow this link to the LSJ story to contact him.
