Kimmel: Sign Language Interpreter Interprets Interpreter [VIDEO]

My mom is a deaf interpreter -- I've spent lots of time around deaf folks.  Even still, I was bemused when it came to light that the interpreter at the Nelson Mandela memorial service was signing what amounted to gibberish.

The deaf community was understandably upset and immediately began calling him out online.  But he defends himself against claims that he's a fraud, saying he suffers schizophrenia and was having an episode.

What he signed seemed to make no sense, but to be sure, Jimmy Kimmel brought in his own sign language interpreter to...well...interpret the interpreter.
