In a perfect world, wouldn't it be great if everyone wore a mask, remained at least 6 feet apart, and washed their hands often?. That would be nice but not everybody gets that.

That's why Ingham County's top health official says her authority to maintain safety precautions against the spread of COVID-19 is very clear, but apparently that power is already being scrutinized.

According to the Lansing State Journal, "Ingham County Health Officer Linda Vail said her power to issue the orders falls under the state's public health code and is unaffected by the Michigan Supreme Court's ruling that invalidated Governor Gretchen Whitmer's executive orders."

Vail said it's a completely different law. The public health code gives state and local health officials broad powers to protect health, especially during the large scale coronavirus pandemic. (LSJ)

I personally don't have any issues with any mandates that focus on the health and well being of not only our immediate families, but anyone and everyone involved. We should wear masks and limit indoor gatherings and outdoor gatherings to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Linda Vail on Sunday issued four local orders mandating people continue to wear masks, limit indoor and outdoor gatherings, keeping indoor restaurant and bar seating limited to 50% capacity and requiring employee health screenings. The orders only affect Ingham county. (LSJ)

People should take precautions against the spread of the virus and want the pandemic to end. But know one has a crystal ball that can look into the future and tell us when this madness will stop. This is the here and now and we should all adapt to it, to the best of our ability and follow all protocols until we see things change for the better.
