As we move into "Spooky Season", haunted houses will be opening up and while each one is known for their own special things, Jackson's Underworld is four stories of what they say is an "Extreme Haunted House."

They are now unveiling new renovations and are ready to scare the bejeezus out of anyone who dares to enter!

When, Where and For How Long?

According to the Jackson's Underworld calendar on their website, they're kicking things off on Friday, September 10th and carries on every weekend until the first weekend in November.

You can buy your tickets online (CLICK HERE) and in person (or even win them listening to us here at 97.5 NOW FM).

There are multiple ticket options, or "packages" if you will, including VIP options to skip the line, a "Dual Haunt" ticket that gets you entrance to the four floors of horror and to the newly-renovated Psycho Vision 3D.

While the scares do start at 7 p.m. and, WILX reports, "will last until the last ticket holder goes through the haunt."

Things to Know About Jackson's Underworld

As someone who grew up in Jackson, have heard so much about Jackson's Underworld from friends in high school, as an adult who has moved back to Jackson, I am excited to finally have the time to finally check this place out.

In researching more about Jackson's Underworld, I found out through their FAQ's page on their website, they have "monster repellant glow sticks" that are available for kids, adults or, simply, "anyone who wants a little less of a scare."

I think that is an absolutely great idea and it's the first time I've heard of anything like this, a visual tool for all the cast members in the haunted house to sort of "take it easy."

Other Haunted Houses in the Area

With the pandemic shutting down anything remotely fun in 2020, it's safe to say our beloved haunted houses are back in full swing this year. While there are few things more terrifying than the things we have endured this past year, it's definitely nice to have a night full of jump scares, creepy creatures and all-around adrenaline rushes.

If you can't make it to Jackson, there are still plenty haunted houses that are some local favorites.

Being from the Jerome area, one I heard so much about growing up was DarkSyde Acres in Jonesville.

Ones a little closer to Lansing include: Awaken Haunted Attraction (Leslie), Grand River Corn Maze (Fowlerville), Ghostly Grove Haunted Forest Attraction (Pinckney), and more!

Where are some of your favorite local haunted attractions?
