Michigan Road Trippers Can Now Visit Ohio’s First Buc-ee’s
Attention Michigan Buc-ee’s fans: we may not have a location in the Great Lakes State yet, but a Buc-ee’s in Ohio has officially opened its doors.
The new Buc-ee’s in Huber Heights officially opened today, Monday, April 6, 2026. You will find it at 8000 State Route 235, just off I-70. No, it is not the shortest drive from Michigan. However, it is the closest Buc-ee’s to us and the only one currently open in Ohio.
How far away is the new Buc-ees in Ohio from Flint and the Lapeer areas?
If you are traveling from Flint, it’s roughly a four-hour drive. From Lapeer, plan on about four and a half hours.
Even if you’re not taking a trip just for Buc-ee’s, keep it in mind next time you’re driving through Ohio - you will definitely want to stop.

I didn’t understand all the Buc-ee’s hype until I visited a location in Kentucky last year. Honestly, words can’t do the experience justice. At first, I felt completely overwhelmed by the amount of merchandise in the store - food, clothing, travel essentials, car accessories, outdoor gear, and much more.
I literally grabbed some food, stepped outside to eat, and then came back in to explore everything.
People are nuts about Buc-ees stores, and I get it. The food is made fresh, and the burrito I had was the bomb. The snacks - don't even get me started. There are so many delicious options to choose from.
The store definitely lives up to its hype. See for yourself in the videos below.
Maybe one day Michigan will be home to a Buc-ee’s location. Until then, Ohio it is.
