Michigan TV Stations Vanish From DISH: What’s Going On?
If you're a DISH Network customer in Michigan and your TV suddenly feels like it's missing something, it's not your imagination. It's a contract dispute doing what contract disputes do best: putting your nightly Wheel of Fortune fix in Jeopardy.

According to the Detroit Free Press, DISH Network and Gray Media failed to renew their agreement on March 10, 2026. Translation: negotiations stalled, and Gray-owned stations got yanked from the satellite provider's lineup.
What Channels Michigan Viewers Lost
Mid-Michigan took a direct hit from this dispute. DISH Network customers lost:
- WILX-TV 10 (NBC, Lansing)
- WNEM TV5 (CBS, Saginaw)
Other parts of the state weren't spared either, with WLUC TV6 (NBC, Negaunee) and 13 ABC (Toledo) also now blacked out by DISH. In total, 226 Gray Media-owned stations have been blacked out nationwide.
So... Who's to Blame?
Both sides are pointing fingers like a Spider-Man meme.
- Gray Media says DISH demanded some never-before-seen contract terms and didn't negotiate in good faith.
- DISH Network says Gray wanted unreasonable fee increases that would've jacked up your bill.
So basically, one says "greedy," the other says "also greedy," and you're stuck without the ability to watch Law and Order.
How Long Will the Blackout Last in Michigan?
That's the million-dollar question. These disputes can last weeks... or drag on longer than a Michigan winter. There's no clear end date yet, but history says it could resolve quickly... or linger just long enough you might consider reading a book.
How to Watch Without DISH Network
Good news: Mid-Michigan isn't totally cut off from your local stations:
- Grab an antenna (yes, the old-school kind still works great)
- Switch to services like YouTubeTV, Hulu Live, or Fubo
- Try DIRECTV or local cable
- Download station apps (WILX streams for free)
- Check for local services on ROKU
