Have You Tried The 7 Best Diners in Michigan?

There's nothing better than a greasy spoon or a diner. Sure, they don't always have most recent interiors, the prettiest plating, or a instragram worthy aesthetic. But, they do make food that is good for your soul.

And with the economy the way it is, diners make a great place to get some tasty food without having to take out a small loan or mortgage your home.

I'm originally from the land of Waffle House, and while we don't have the southern breakfast diner chain in our state, we do have our fair share of home-style cooking and hangover defeating restaurants that are worth visiting.

So if you're looking for something that hits the spot (sometimes at a weird hour) there are a few options you want to try

This list is In no particular order, so don't try to fight me if your favorite isn't included or listed first.

76th Street Diner (Grand Rapids area)

With two locations right outside of Grand Rapids, the 76th Street Diner is a West Michigan staple.

Not only do they serve an amazing breakfast spread, they're also known for their "Mother Trucker Burger" which is just fun to order, and just as loved by customers. Check them out any time you're hankering for something good, since they are open 24/7.

Good Truckin' Diner (Lansing & Grand Rapids)

This Lansing based breakfast spot recently opened a location in Grand Rapids and if you're looking for a breakfast to soak up that hangover, they've got it.

Their unique menu, fun aesthetic and quirky staff have made them one of my favorite weekend breakfast spots. Plus, they have vegan options too!

While they're not open outside of breakfast and brunch, they've got a menu that's worth waiting for them to open up.

The Fly Trap (Ferndale)

If you're looking for an option that is Guy Fieri approved, this is one of the few Michigan restaurants that he's put his DDD seal on.

This spot prides itself on being a 'finer diner', so if you're not a fan of sketchy feeling places, this is the perfect diner for you.

Some customer favorites include their Crab Cakes, Red Chili Salmon Burger, and Huevos Rancheros, so they truly are the 'Finer Diner'

The Diner On Hackley (Muskegon)

If you love that retro feel, the Diner on Hackley in Muskegon nails it.

Their food is hot, fresh, and plated in a way that will make you forget you're in Muskegon's top rated diner. Plus, they offer stuffed hashbrowns that you will be happy to drive to try.

Fleetwood Diner (Lansing & Ann Arbor)

Another retro styled diner located on the east side of the state, fans of the Fleetwood Diner say it's worth the stop.

They've been around for over 70 years, so it's hard to argue with the community surroduning them that this all day breakfast spot is an absolute treasure. Plus they're another 24/7 spot that you can try when you have a weird late night craving.

Try their hippy hash browns if you want to know what all of the hype is about.

Roz's Diner (Rosebush)

Another spot that's a diner for people who are leery about diners, Roz's is just adorable

Their hours are limited since they're only open Wednesday - Sunday, but if you're willing to go when they are open, you should be in for a treat. Their seasonal items (like Pumpkin Pancakes) are worth the stop

D'nicio's Parlour (Kalamazoo & Battle Creek)

Don't let the name fool you, this retro style diner in Southwest Michigan has everything you're looking for

They've got a greek twist to their menu that makes them unique to the others on this list, and they are also known for their ice cream and milkshake offerings. Stopping in here will really make you feel like you're hanging out in a scene from the movie Grease.
