Michigan Location Voted No. 2 Best Small Coastal Town in the Entire Country

When it comes to charm, beauty, great food, and fun things to do - this Michigan town has it on lock. Now it's getting national recognition as one of the top 10 small coastal towns in the country!

"What's the Best Coastal Small Town for 2024?" was the subject of a new USA Today and 10best readers poll.

When you hear "coastal towns" I think a lot of people forget about Michigan (unless you're from here) and think about states like California and Florida - so it was nice to see a Michigan location up for this honor! (Though I definitely think more Michigan towns should've been competing...)

Twenty towns with "scenic views, historic attractions, delicious food, and plenty of things to do both on and off the water" were selected by a panel of experts. It was then put up to a public vote.

Saugatuck, Mich., has been named the No. 2 Best Coastal Small Town in the U.S.!

Growing up not far from there in South Haven, Saugatuck has always been one of my favorite places to visit. In addition to the gorgeous beaches, you've got great shops, fantastic restaurants, and plenty of art to check out.

USA Today praises Saugatuck for it's "award-winning beaches, spas, breweries, art galleries, and so much more", saying, "Whether you're looking for a wedding venue or a romantic place to renew vows, want to enjoy a fun wine tasting, or take an unforgettable family vacation with plenty of outdoor time, Saugatuck has it all."

So what city beat out Saugatuck for No. 1?
