We are certainly going through unusual times during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Many states and politicians are calling for allowing Americans to vote by mail, so they can feel safe and not have to be exposed to large crowds like what happened in Wisconsin last month during their primary. Mail in voting sure seems reasonable to me, however many disagree. And it's an issue that's in the headlines.

Voter fraud has been a hot topic for many years, but in reality it’s quite rare.
Voterfraudfacts.com and News 21 conducted a study of 2,608 cases alleging voter fraud nationally from 2000 to 2012 and found only 1 case of in-person voter fraud and 207 cases involving other types of election fraud, only 33 could be verified as convicted or plead guilty. There are around 153 million registered voters in the United States. When you look at absentee ballots we’re talking only 491 cases. The actual instances of voter fraud is very minimal compared to the number of people who vote.

The State of Michigan is being proactive and sending out applications to vote from home so people can feel safe. MLive reports

President Trump tweeted: Michigan sends absentee ballots to 7.7 million people. This was done illegally and without authorization by a rogue Secretary of State.

Our rogue Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson responded to the President that we sent vote from home applications, not ballots. In this day and age with our busy lives and the Covid-19 virus, it makes sense to vote by mail. Donald Trump votes by mail and our Military has for decades. Why can’t we?
