Emotions have been running high with everything going on in the world. Is the election causing you anxiety? Do you wish you could fast forward a couple of weeks so it's over with? You're not alone. According to PRNNewswire, 68% of us are stressed out about this election.

Here's a couple ways to manage your election anxiety..

Limit Your Screen Time

I know, it's hard sometimes. Especially when you're bored. But social media is flooded with the election right now and if you're tired of hearing about it, limiting your time spent on the web will help. Or maybe you're tired of seeing opinions you don't agree with. If you don't have the energy to see those opinions or don't want to get into a debate out of fear it won't end well, hide/mute that person. I'm not going to lie, I have done this with friends and family before because I didn't agree with the stance they were taking and didn't have the energy to debate. You can always unmute them after the election is over!

Self-Care

Psychology Today, says that election stress disorder is a real thing. So if the election is making you anxious, practice some self-care. Maybe you've always wanted to learn yoga or practice meditating. Now's a great time to download a yoga or meditation app and learn how to let go of things you can't control. If the weather permits, get outside and go for a walk or get a workout in. Looking for something less active? I know it sounds funny, but journaling is a great way to get your feelings out. Believe it or not, I'm not much of a talker when it comes to my feelings, I find journaling helps. You can write down whatever's bothering you and rip it up or burn it afterwards. Just be careful if you choose to burn it, have a glass of water handy!
