Michigan shoppers may want to take a quick look in the freezer, especially if MorningStar Farms is part of the regular grocery rotation.

What MorningStar Farms Products Are Recalled?

The company has issued a voluntary recall for two popular frozen food items because they may contain pieces of plastic. According to the FDA, the recall involves MornignStar Farms Buffalo Chik'n Nuggets and MorningStar Farms Hot and Spicy Sausage Patties.

The affected products were sold across the United States, which means for you, Michigan shoppers, these could be sitting at home right now.

How To Check Your Package

For the Buffalo Chik'm Nuggets, check for the 10.5-ounce package with UPC 000 28989 10110 5. The "Better if Used Before" dates are July 7, 2027 and July 8, 2027.

For the Hot and Spicy Sausage Patties, check for the 8-ounce package with UPC 000 28989 10094 8. The affected "Better if Used Before" dates are July 5, 2027, July 6, 2027 and July 7, 2027.

The concern is pretty big. Nobody wants plastic in their food, and if you bite into something with foreign material in it, that can obviously become a saftey issue.

What To Do If You Have The Recalled Food

If you do have one of the recalled products, do not eat it. The FDA says shoppers should throw the product away and contact MorningStar Farms for a full refund.

This is one of those recalls that may be an easy miss, because frozen food can sit inside your freezer for a while. It may not hurt to go through your freezer tonight, and just be sure that you don't have this product sitting in there somewhere.
