Is Alpena Okay? These are Michigan’s Most Popular Halloween Costumes
Recently, Google launched a website called "Frightgeist" that has been making its rounds on social media.
People have been using Google's "Costume Wizard" to help them find their last-minute Halloween costumes.
However, I would use it for another reason.
The "Costume Wizard" uses data to find the top costumes that people are wearing nationally and locally.
I would use this widget to find out what not to be this year so you are not the same as everyone else.
According to the "Costume Wizard," if you live in the Grand Rapids/Kalamazoo/Battle Creek and also Detroit areas, you may want to stay away from the number one costume: a witch.
A little basic in my opinion. We can do better, Grand Rapids!
In Marquette and Lansing, everyone wants to be a cowboy, according to Google.
The top costume everyone wants to be this Halloween in the Saginaw/Flint/Bay City areas is a dinosaur. No particular dinosaur. Simply a dinosaur is the top choice for them.
However, the most concerning costume for Michigan has to go to residents near Alpena... a broken doll!
Besides just simply being a doll for Halloween, they upped the creepy factor and decided that they all want to go as a broken doll.
Imagine walking down the road while trick or treating and seeing this!
While it is a great costume, it is a little bit concerning that based on the data, everyone in one area most likely will be a broken doll.
