As I sit here writing this, it's hard to even know where to begin, so I guess I'll just start with some facts.
Details about Michigan State University Shooting
The suspect, now identified as 43-year-old Anthony D. McRae, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound just after midnight on Tuesday, February 14th near Lake Lansing Road and Larch Street in Lansing.
During the mass shooting, the suspect shot eight people; killing three and leaving five others wounded. At this time, the names of two victims have been released; "Brian Fraser, a sophomore from Grosse Pointe and Alexandria Verner, a junior from Clawson. The third victim’s name was not released in “respect to the family’s wishes."

With such a terrible act of violence being perpetrated in our own backyard, it can be considerably hard to deal with the well of emotions that comes up. This situation is affecting our families, friends, loved ones, and quite honestly, ourselves, and that can be overwhelming. And that's why it's so important to speak to someone if you need to.
In times like these, it is important to seek help if you need it. You can be brave and sad and grief-stricken at the same time. Needing help does not make one weak.
There are lots of counseling services available to MSU students and community members at large if you feel like you need to speak with someone.
If you are an MSU student, Michigan State offers crisis counseling on and off campus. It is free, confidential, and available 24/7. Just call (517) 355-8270 and press "1" at the prompt. Additionally, counselors are available to MSU students at Hannah Community Center, located at 819 Abbot Road in East Lansing. they are available at least through today (Tue. Feb. 14th) at that location.
