There is a massive recall happening this week from Hyundai and Kia as they are recalling cars due to engine issues. The engine issue that is causing Hyundai and Kia to recall 500k cars are due to a new problem that can lead to engines catching fire.

According to WILX, the recall is because of more reports of engine fires. But the largest of the recall covers Kia Soul SUVs from 2012 through 2016 with 1.6-liter engines. The problem in these vehicles are that pieces can break the engine block causing an oil leak and potential fire.

The other recalls are for several Kia and Hyundai models. Those recalls cover 152,000 Tuscon SUVs from 2011 to 2013 and Sportage SUVs from 2011. These cars can also have engine fires due to an oil leak. No word on when or how both of these companies are going to fix the issue but if you have any of these cars you will probably get a notice from them telling you how to get it fixed soon.
