The annual Winterfest, sponsored by the Laingsburg Business & Community Association, was a success once again last weekend as hundreds of people filled downtown Laingsburg to enjoy kids' activities, Santa's Light Parade, a community bonfire, children's Holiday Marketplace, generous donations of prizes from area businesses, pancake eating contest and a chili cook-off, among many other things.

The Laingsburg High School Jazz Band also returned to share its melodious talents with the crowd, as did an ice sculpturist and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Winterfest is always held the first Saturday of December. It is made possible by a volunteer committee of community business owners. The free festival has been held for more than 20 years.
