Holy Alcoholic Advent Calendars Batman…
Behold. Your traditional advent calendar. Pure. Wholesome. Devoid of spirits (booze). It is to be filled with treats and candies to help countdown the holidays or days until Christmas.
The Advent calendar was first used by German Lutherans in the 19th and 20th centuries. The calendar windows open to reveal an image, a poem, a portion of a story (such as the story of the Nativity of Jesus), or a small gift, such as a toy or a chocolate item. Often, each window has a Bibleverse and Christian prayer printed on it, which Christians incorporate as part of their daily Advent devotions.[4][7] Advent calendars may also have puzzles and games printed on their reverse side. And look. They even have different types. I saw the traditional one and this pet one at Costco this past weekend.
We don't know when it happened, but now ALCOHOL ADVENT CALENDARS are a thing. People are here for them. And you can get them in almost any spirit and anywhere.

Also found at Costco (and right near the front) was this. 24 half bottles of wine that will put you in the holiday spirit alright. A half bottle a day for 24 days. Your nose is gonna be as red a Rudolph's.
And if wine ain't your thang, we've got a case to make for a case.
And all this got me to thinking about a conversation I had with a friend who told me that the Aldi's Alcohol Advent Calendars were a thing of beauty and in high demand. And they are.
Note a beer, wine, and HARD SELTZER version of the advent calendar at your local Aldi's. But don't go looking for them now. These won't be available until November 4th.
These things do make a great holiday gift and Good Housekeeping has a list of the 12 best to buy this year. Aldi's takes up 3 spots on it.
2020 has been a rough year for us. And since the quarantine, we as a country have been boozing it up pretty hard. So please be careful. Enjoy your holidays responsibly.
