Due to the pandemic we find ourselves living through, one of the causalities was football. From high schools to colleges all the way to the pros.

The one silver lining is that there was no pre-season, so players could not get hurt before the regular season kicked off. I, for one, am thrilled with that.

Now tonight, the NFL season kicks off with Kansas City hosting the Houston Texans. Sunday football has my Lions hosting our rival the Bears at Ford Field.

Even though the stadium will not be filled with fans on Sunday, the lower bowl of Ford Field will be filled with fans for at least the first 2 home games. Sounds crazy but they have found a way to make it fun.

The Detroit Lions want to fill the stands with fans, that is cardboard cutout fans to be exact. You can purchase a cutout with your picture on it, and wearing Lions fan gear is a must.

You can't go to the Lions game, but your cardboard cutout can.  Full season cutouts are available for purchase for $150.00, that price is for the general public, but if you are a season ticket holder the price is $125.00. Too steep for your pocket book?  You can also purchase a cutout for a single game for $50. Money raised will support cancer research through Henry Ford Health systems, and the Salute to Service Game, which benefits our military families through the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.

One fan at each home game is able to purchase the opportunity for their cutout to be seated near the Lions tunnel, next to the cutout of Barry Sanders..that one will set you back $1,000 dollars.
