It's always fun to lose yourself in a TV show you really love. I'm a massive fan of binging reality shows of all sorts, especially when it's something really niche that I can't find anywhere else. (We aren't going to talk about the three months during the pandemic that I got obsessed with a show about making swords on Netflix.)

But it's even better when you see a store and familiar faces on the screen, and West Michigan comics and collectables fans will see one of their favorite spots next month.

Grand Rapids' very own Tardy's Collectables Corner (located at the corner of Eastern Ave and Burton in Alger Heights) will be featured in the season premiere of the show 'A Toy Store Near You'.

What is the show about?

Erik Kollasch hosts this Amazon reality series, and each episode features a different toy store highlighting some of the best across America.

According to IMDb their goal is to highlight some of America's greatest collectable stores, because "Throughout the world, there are hundreds of independently-owned toy stores, each one as unique and endearing as the people that own them."

The show has also been featuring how Comics and Collectables stores have been trying to pivot their business model during the COVID pandemic when a lot of businesses have been forced to move online, knowing that the best part of any collectables store is - the community!

When will their episode debut?

The season 5 premiere for 'A Toy Store Near You' will hit Amazon Prime streaming on Black Friday, November 25th 2022. If you want to watch the previous seasons to get ready for it- they are located on the streaming service.
