We all know about how bad the road conditions are here in Michigan, but the state is going to try and combat that by raising the gas tax & car registration in 2017.

The gas tax coming on January 1st will increase gas prices by more than 7 cents per gallon also it will bring in 20% increase to car registration costs. All of the revenue from those increases will then go back into the roads.

According to the Lansing's Dept of Public Works Chad Gamble he said, "The city desperately needs some help with fixing the roads." He also added, "Lansing has about 300 miles of roadway and are in the lowest condition."

So even though the city won't be paving all of the roads over night it will be a start on a long project. To read more about the roads and the gas tax check it out here.
