A teen that died over the weekend after recently moving from Lansing to the Perry area to attend school suffered a brain arteriovenous malformation (AVM).

On Friday, as the Shiawassee RESD bus pulled back into Perry High School from Corunna High School, with which she split her school days, Sierra Marie Hardenburg, 15, suffered the medical emergency that led to her death.

"She was a beautiful 15 year old that lost her life way too soon but she is in Heaven with her dad now," her aunt Sarah, who set up an account at LAFCU to raise funds for her final expenses, said. The account number is 1278205 / S9 (Sierra's Final Goodbye Fund/Sarah Shirey). The credit union will only accept cash in that account, however, checks may be made to Sarah Shirey and mailed to 2128 Auburn Ave., Holt MI 48842.

Contributions for "an amazing home going" may also be made through a GoFundMe page,

Sierra's funeral will be held in Lansing at Skinner Funeral Homes, 101 W. Jolly Road, on Saturday at 3pm.

Sierra's father, Roger, passed away in 2005 at the young age of 24.
