The Details On The Recall
The products that were affected will have a batch code of 50328453 and have a best if used by date of July 4th, so if you've frozen any of the product recently, you may want to check on it.
According to the official statement released by the company, there is a risk that pieces of plastic may be present in the meat, posing a serious safety hazard to those who may consume it. No injuries have been reported related to this product.
The recall is considered a Class 1 food safety risk, which typically indicates that consumption of the food could lead to serious health consequences. The concern in this case centers around a choking hazard of a foreign object.
A popular yogurt brand also just recalled its product after another plastic contamination risk, but the two incidents are unrelated to each other.
If you do have any of the affected product, you should get rid of it immediately or return it to your place of purchase for a full refund.
