These 10 Michigan Cities Are Ranked by Worst to Best Drivers
How are your driving chops? Great? Adequate? Your friends and family would rather walk than step into a car with you behind the wheel?
If you're a good driver, maybe your skills contributed to your city's rank in the Top 10 list of the cities with the best drivers in Michigan.
Flint, Detroit, Burton Make the Grade
We were a little surprised that Detroit made the Top 10. (Have you been to the Motor City lately?) We were also pleased to see that Flint ranked as high as it did on the list. We're kinda numb to the feeling of being near the top of various Top 10 lists, but this time it's a good thing. We'll take it.
In fact, the report indicates that Flint has surprisingly fewer occurrences of bad driving behaviors for a city its size. Burton gets high marks for a low percentage of traffic fatalities.
How Was the List Compiled?
The data was crunched by QuoteWizzard.com using information from about 500,000 insurance quotes and data from the US Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Administration, taking into account the highest and lowest numbers of incidents like speeding tickets, car accidents, and DUIs.
More Good News
Here's a little more good news. Michigan's insured drivers also placed among the best in the country by an independent driving study because Michigan falls below the national average for traffic fatalities.
