If you think you can squeeze in one more trip to one of the Lakes, make sure you stop by Bete Gris a small beach on Lake Superior, with a weird natural occurrence.

This mile long sand beach up in the UP of Michigan holds a magical "power" of sorts. The magic happens when you place the palm of your hand on the surface of the sand and rotate it, the sand resonates with a high-pitched singing like sound. The sand will sing when laying on the beach but will be silent after being taken from the beach. Bete Gris means Grey Beast in French, though it is misspelled.

If you want to get there travel on US Hwy 41 north to the town of Delaware, then turn right onto Lac La Belle Rd. When you reach the Lake, turn left onto Bete Gris Rd and follow the signs to Lake Superior and the beach.
