There is a BBQ restaurant in Colorado that is doing "White Appreciation Day" and giving a special 10% off discount to only "white" customers. Ugh. This is probably a terrible idea. At first, according to this article I saw on the Lansing State Journal, the owners of this place were doing it as a joke and then they decided to actually go through with it. His reasoning was this quote, " we have a whole month for Black History Month, we have a whole month for Hispanic Heritage Month so we thought we could the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate White Americans." I'm not sure that is totally necessary since we've pretty much had time to be appreciated as white America since the country's inception.

Needless to say, if that happened around here, I would not be supporting it or supporting that business from here on out but that's just me. If you're going to give to a discount on a product or services, just give to everyone man. That is ridiculous. Also, how are you going to determine who is white and who isn't? I feel like that is going to cause some issues as well. What if you're a mixed person? Or what if you just have dark skin and yet still identify as a white person? All of it is a terrible idea. I hope that no one shows up for their stuff because this is the dumbest thing ever.
