Okay... I'll preface this with saying I don't have kids... so I am not exactly an expert on this subject...

I found this video on YouTube yesterday of The Polar Plunge that happens yearly at the Eagle Eye Golf Course, which already had me intrigued because I had no clue we had this in Lansing Michigan! Basically it's where people jump in freezing water really quick in freezing temperatures outside and then get out of the water really fast.

This concept is just CRAZY to me! I'd rather sit in my heated house sipping on a hot cup of coffee thank you! But what's even crazier is the KID that was allowed to do this?! And there are other kids in line that did the Polar Plunge...

So my southern and only used to warm weather customs instincts kicks in and thinks... is this OKAY to let a kid jump into freezing cold water when it's freezing temperatures outside? That just seems MEAN! And I'd like to know if the people who did this a few days ago have gotten sick yet?

What do you think, am I just southern and don't get it, or do you agree and would not let your kids do the plunge?
