A weather pattern called an "omega block" will be forming over the U.S. this week. Fortunately we will be on the bottom of it. So for everyone complaining this week about the snow, rain, and wind you can can and probably will be seeing something different and more pleasant this week and weekend.

To explain this more a omega block is given that name because the upper air flow that forms the Greek letter omega.

According to MLive, an omega block has three areas of distinct weather.  Cool, wet weather occurs under the upper level storms on each end of the omega.  Dry and sunny and warming temps occurs under the upper level high pressure center.   Michigan and the Great Lakes will be under the high pressure part and that means we can expect more sun, less rain and snow, and rising temperatures.
