According to an article in the Detroit Free Press, today Governor Snyder allowed groups to decline adoption by gay couples. I just don't get it. What does this guy, or state have against equal rights for homosexuals? All over the country and even all over the world, equal rights for human beings everywhere are being passed in government halls. There are still plenty of states in this union that are opposed to same sex equal rights, but I just get the vibe that in the state of Michigan we are extra opposed thanks to our Governor. Look, I don't know a damn thing about politics nor do I ever claim to know anything about politics. Here's what I do know, things like this make me ashamed. This time around, same sex couples will not be able to adopt children if that faith based adoption group decides it's against their religion.

Oh and by the way, those faith based adoption groups get money from the state. Just an FYI. Before you label me a crazy liberal dude, just know that I don't really lean one way or the other. I just believe in equality. Honestly. What do you care? Why do we as a society care so much about what people do in their spare time? If the environment has been proven safe and beneficial to a child, and the parents are loving and caring and willing, who are we to say that because they are in a same sex relationship, they can't adopt a child. I just don't understand and I guess I never will. Let me know your thoughts on this and where you stand on this decision.
