Mid-Michigan Represented at Fashion Week In NYC
Patricia Yankee has fashioned herself into an international celebrity nail designer and industry consultant. Yankee lives on Long Island now, but she hails from Durand. So when she received a resume from her hometown after posting on Facebook that she would need some help during Fashion Week, it was a no-brainer.
Tori Childs, a nail technician at Changes Salon in Durand, as well as her cousin, Halee Crosser who is studying fashion at Western Michigan University, joined Yankee, providing manicures to models during the spring show.
Childs described the event as fast-paced, saying she was nervous but that it was 'amazing.'
The best part, perhaps, is that Childs was invited to return for the fall fashion show, to be held in New York September 4th through 11th.
Childs trained at Mane Street Academy in Owosso.
