I've heard a time or two, "It's not too expensive to live in Lansing." According to a new list from livability.com, Lansing is the top spot on the list ranking small to mid size cities.

Each of the cities that made the list all had to have culture, education, and other factors to make them livable as well as affordable. For Lansing, the website noted that rent averages $734, well below the national average. Unemployment is lower than the national average. And the median home price is $89,190, compared to 206,300 for the rest of the country. Lansing is the only Michigan community to make the 2018 list.

More reasons for Lansing being #1 on the list is that Lansing has a lot of culture, education, and entertainment options. With Michigan State, LCC, and Cooley Law School in the area and with tons of parades and festivals every month or every week. Plus, this list doesn't even account for the growth of Sparrow hospital or the new apartment/housing options so Lansing should be up at the top for a while.
