Lansing-Area JC Penney Stores Not Among Seven In State to Close
JC Penney announced on Friday that 138 locations across the country will close. Seven of the JC Penney locations set to close are in Michigan, but fortunately, none are in the Lansing area.
The closest store on the chopping block is the Midland Mall location. Stores at Lakeview Square Mall in Battle Creek, Westshore Mall in Holland, Delta Plaza in Escanaba, Copper Country Mall in Houghton, Birchwood Mall in Kingsford and Cascade Crossings in Sault Ste. Marie will also close as the company struggles to remain profitable.
You'll still find JC Penney stores in Lansing, Okemos, Jackson, Owosso and Flint.
