Lansing-Area 2nd Grader Eats Bugs, Gives Reviews
I lived in Evansville Indiana, home of the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, for years.
Each year in October, the Nut Club's festival features tons of food. It's where I became acquainted with and developed a love for breaded pickles. (Sure, breaded pickles are good, but it also helped that it was DZ sorority girls selling them. But I digress...)
Like most public events, the fall festival brings some real weirdos out -- ya know, the ones that like to eat Brain Sandwiches and bugs.
I thought I escaped all that ten years ago when I left Evansville, but apparently not.
Now, bugs are packaged and even contain "Nutritional Information" on the bags.
Perhaps appropriately, as we are one week away from Halloween, a Lansing-area 2nd grader named Bloom has done a very scary thing. She has "taken one for the team" -- walking us through the experience of eating packaged bugs. Safe to say these are not treats, they are definitely tricks.
I haven't eaten anything but I really need a drink to get this nasty taste out of my mouth. (I'm not sure what it is but it might be vomit.)
I won't spoil her reviews. You can watch the whole thing here.
